i was behind an 80-something rusted out bonneville this morning with wisconsin collector’s plates. it made me feel a little old. when i was a kid, cars with collectors plates were cool, and shiny, and well-taken-care-of.
your car has to be 20+ years old to qualify as a collector, and you are limited by the months and mileage you may drive said car in a given year. the preservation and quality of an awesome automobile is the reason to call it a collector; not simply because you held on to some jalopy for 20 years.
