i finally get my ding-dang hairs cut this afternoon. it was supposed to happen two weeks ago, but whoever wrote the little card for me didn’t enter it in the computer. so, instead of my regular 6 weeks between, it’s been 8 and i’m about to shave my head.
just bought two round-trip tickets to new york for next month. i’ll be turning 28 in a different time zone eating the best sushi i’ll ever eat in my life unless i move to japan. i. can’t. wait.
i used to have all this guys’ free fonts; i probably still do, somewhere. anyhow, he made a game for us to enjoy: Escape
thanks to renee for her most recent comments re: the assembly of my wheel.. now i have another question: the auction lady gave me a bag of roving with the wheel to “get me started”. do i really have to tear bits off of it in order to spin? it seems like carded wool wouldn’t need to be turned into roving if all you have to do is tear it apart again to spin.

for time, energy, and water savings. if you’re going to felt something, don’t do it in your washer.
grab a bucket, as much water to cover the item(s), dawn dish soap, and a small plunger; plunge away for 10 minutes. for real. don’t go wasting all that water just to get a new bag or pair of slippers.
i finally got the wheel assembled last night. i got stumped at the flyer and bobbin step. there’s some weird knobbies on the flyer holder thingy that have fishing line tied to them.. which i can only assume is for some sort of tension? i don’t know. i need better instructions. the ones that the auction lady sent me are from 1900 and they’re for a slightly different (and older) model.
i’ll post pics of my trials and errors. as long as they’re pg-13.

the reason i don’t feel like putting up with much today is cuz we had an awfully full sunday, and it was a good time. i woke up bright and early at 8, hopped in the shower, got kurt up and went to brunch with mom and geo at the esbma on monona drive (it wasn’t as good as nauti-gal, but it’s closer and cheaper). then we braved woodman’s at 11 on a sunday. it wasn’t terrible. then we got home and i power-cleaned the ferret room.. they’re only about 40% potty trained; while doing laundry. then i walked out into the livingroom and said “bike ride?”, so we got our bikes out of the basement and took a mini-ride over to kipp and back on the bikepath. then we sat outside gabbing with neighbors and friends. at about 3, we went to the brass ring which is a really beautifully decorated pool hall/bar adjacent to the high noon saloon. we played pool and table-shuffleboard until almost 6, when we left for bob’s apt (above the >tavern) for texas hold ’em. i was | | this close to getting second, but it was getting tired.. so i was done by about 8. came home, nuked some enchiladas and tried to finish the
