This is George. He just got done with his yearly brumation, wherein he worried poor Kurt to death with his lack of movement and eating. I’ll tell you what, he’s gotten all of his strength back and I can hardly keep enough mealworms in the house to satiate his hunger. Good thing he like veggies. The mealworms are his weekend snack. Say hi to George. (image disappeared somewhere)
janis j would be 60 today if she didn’t shoot whiskey directly into her veins and just drank it like a normal person.
Our first Stitch and Bitch went splendidly. Fash learned, with lightning speed, that knitting is fun! jennifer and I also delved into the purl stitch. This, combined with the knit stitch makes up the entirety of our knitted world. I think I can say with confidence that we’re all thrilled. Hats anyone heard of headhuggers? As Fash put it, the cause is a little strange right now, but in a few months, we’ll be donating tons, I’m sure.
Again with the trend-following.

my 5 year goal (only 3 years ago) was to be freelancing from my kitchen island on a saturday morning with a steaming hot cup of coffee wearing a terrycloth robe. so far, i’ve got the coffee part.
It’s really not just me being a brat. The caf has no idea how to appease the vegetarian masses. I know I’m not the only one, either. The best part about their “lunch menu” is that they indicate Weight Watchers points with each day’s meal description. If you’ve ever known anyone to try Weight Watchers, you learn that each day is allotted 20-25 points depending on your goal weight; well each of the caf’s lunches are between 20 and 25 points! Why bother? I’m also disappointed in their near-refusal to make me a fresh sandwich. Their problem solving skills include making 20 turkey and swiss and one veggie sandwich in the morning and putting them in the cooler. If I wanted a sandwich that was made this morning and put in a cooler, I would have brought my own sandwich. Needless to say, today I’ll be having rice pilaf.
I just like thinking that really loudly about people. Anyhow, I got the Badge-A-Minit and the Handy Stitch yesterday in the mail, but I didn’t get a chance to try either of them out. I ate in the caf at work today for the first time since Halloween. I wonder if I’m getting weak, lazy, or both?
Normally, I hate it when people are like, “it’s so cold out! i can’t wait til summer.” and then when August comes around and it’s like 150 degrees with humidity, they’re like, “i wish it was January!”. I’m f*cking cold. Not just toes and fingers, but cold to the core. It takes me a while to heat up after being outside. Matter of fact, I don’t think I ever actually get warm at work. The heat is on some sort of timer that drops 10 degrees right after lunchtime. Anyhow. I’m busy today.
Knitting is fun! I’d write a book about it, but that title is already taken. So I admit I didn’t think I could do it. Mom stuck with crocheting for the same reason. It’s an extremely zen process and if I can keep that in my head, I can knit anything! Homework assignment: Find out when and why someone was sitting on their rock and decided to grab the two sticks on the ground and weave a string around them in order to make a blanket. Cuz I’m sure they didn’t start with washcloths.
was so fun! I told the host (via email) that it was probably the most stimulating of any evening I have had the pleasure to participate in. That said, I should point out that I’m easily amused. Any more than 7 other people and I become a hermit; though, T. had to task out the opportunity to get me to converse. Strange, that. I think part of my want to keep quiet is that I know something stupid is going to come flying out of my mouth. I mean, I’m still at the stage where impressing these neighbors is important. T.’s wife is very nice, too. :) She offered to lend me her sewing machine because she doesn’t use it. How trusting is that!
Hooray! Thanks to places like Reprodepot Fabrics and DIY, we’re on our way to stardom and moving far away from boredom. Tomorrow is the first session of the stitch and bitch club. The secondary happiness that this brings me is that I’ll just have to make a logo and a website and business cards and blah blah blah blah blah. :) Fun times.
